Angelique Ashby’s campaign for Mayor today announced that she has signed “The Clean Money and Transparency Campaign Pledge” and called on all candidates for Mayor to join her in signing the pledge to reject the influence of outside special interest money on Sacramento’s Mayor’s race. “Our next Mayor must lead with ideals and high ethical standards, the residents of Sacramento deserve nothing less. Angelique Ashby’s campaign for Mayor today announced earning the endorsement of Sacramento Assemblymember Jim Cooper, who has served as a Police Captain, local mayor, and now serves Sacramento and Elk Grove in the State Assembly.
Polling conducted prior to Kevin Johnson backing out of the mayor’s race confirmed Ashby would have unseated johnson in head to head campaign. Early polling also indicates that mayoral race between Ashby and Darrell Steinberg “too close to call."
